out & about class
Ready to take your dog’s training into the real world?
Our Out & About class is a fun, challenging training experience designed to strengthen the skills learned in Beginner and Intermediate while working in real-life environments filled with distractions.
Each week we meet at a different location around the city to practice important real-world skills such as:
• Loose leash walking in busy environments
• Reliable recalls around distractions
• Distance control and handler focus
• Stays with heavy distractions
• Polite greetings
• Calm behaviour in public spaces
Some of our favourite training spots include Olympic Village, Kits Beach, English Bay, and other lively parks and public spaces around the city.
This class often includes fun real-life experiences like pack walks, patio visits, hikes, beach adventures, leash handling practice, and occasional paddleboarding opportunities.
Locations are sent out Friday evenings and are chosen based on the number of dogs attending and the training goals for that week.
If you plan to attend, please let me know by Monday evening so I can plan the location and exercises accordingly.
Prerequisite: Dogs must have completed Beginner and Intermediate training before attending.
